If you have a Mac and would like top play custom songs on it, be my guest. There are plenty of people who usually feel that the number of songs available for playing in a Mac is extremely few. However, you should be able to add songs to Guitar hero for Mac even if they were not initially in the play list that came from the manufacturer. In this article, we are going to discuss how you can download songs from the internet and then install them to work with your Guitar hero for Mac.

When installing these songs, it is important to note that you do not really need to have your computer to be able to run the Guitar hero for Mac. All that is needed is for your computer to be able to install it. You also need to make sure that your Mac has the BootCamp software, which is a software that allows you to install Windows operating System on your computer without having to repartition your hard drive. Once you know that you have this program in your Mac, it is now time to install your Windows XP software.

Once you have done that, you are going to open the Guitar Hero Explorer, and then add the songs that you would like to be added. This is something that you can do by going to File > Archive > Add. Once you are through with this, you need now to go to the next level where you are going to use the songs that you added under the Windows platform, to the Mac platform.

To do this, go to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y5YM8PHX and download the file that goes by the name of extractor.bat. Once you have downloaded this file, you will now be required to run it in your computer. It will bring you a window, and you will need to key in some information. Press 1 and then click enter. After you have done so, you will be required to enter the name of the song that you have added into your Guitar hero for Mac. Once you have entered this name, the next step towards downloading and installing the custom songs into your Guitar hero for Mac involves hitting the “enter” button and re-launching the program that you have just run.

After the program has opened for the second time, you will need to key in “2” and then hit the “enter” button. When you check your desktop, you will realize that there are some files that have been copied in there. Copy and paste those files into your flashdisk and then plug the disk into your Mac. You can then copy these files into a location in your Mac by going to Qb Files = /Data/PAK. You will also need to have the following file locations:

songname.fsb.xen + songname.dat.xen = /Data/MUSIC/
songname_song.pak.xen = /Data/SONGS/

It is important to note that unlike many other platforms, installing the Guitar hero for Mac can prove to be an extremely tedious business. For this reason, it is advisable that you be extremely patient.
